The 2018 Morey-Saint-Denis Les Mont Luisants Blanc 1er Cru comes from a parcel bought in 1997 that was planted with Pinot Noir, that Jacques Seysses grafted over with Chardonnay in 2000. Matured in 20% new oak, it has much more lift on the nose compared to the Village Cru thanks to its limestone soils. Lemon thyme, honeysuckle and a touch of peach skin. The palate is vibrant on the entry, the acidity and mineralité coming through nicely. Good length here. - Neal Martin

Morey-Saint-Denis Fine Wine

Morey-Saint-Denis

Morey-Saint-Denis, a prestigious appellation in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, is known for its elegant, well-structured Pinot Noir wines that balance the power of Gevrey-Chambertin and the finesse of Chambolle-Musigny. These wines feature flavours of red and black fruits, earthy spices, and floral notes, with refined tannins and excellent ageing potential. Home to five Grand Cru vineyards, including Clos de Tart and Clos Saint-Denis, top producers like Domaine Dujac, Domaine Ponsot, and Domaine des Lambrays are celebrated for their traditional winemaking and expressive wines.
